Sarah Fitzgerald is a Freelance Writer and is currently working on her first novel, Fixing Rachel. She has a B.A. in English Studies from Trinity College Dublin and Diplomas in Creative Writing and Freelance Journalism from Kilroy’s College Dublin. Sarah has also written articles for SpokeOut, a magazine published by the Irish Wheelchair Association and the Tullamore Tribune. In her spare time Sarah is an active supporter of the Independent Living Movement and Disability Rights in Ireland. She is secretary of a disability activist group, The Laois/Offaly Leader Forum, which gives a voice to disabled people in the Midland Area.
Sarah has Cerebral Palsy and is a mum to her nine year old daughter, Alison. Her story about being accepted as a disabled mother was highlighted in the RTE Documentary, Somebody to Love, in 2014 , which was produced by Wildfire Films and can be watched on Vimeo.
